Install the GPS for HanDBase Plugin
Next you’ll need to install the GPS for HanDBase Plugin application, GPS_For_HanDBase.apk, to your device. Again, open the article on your device and click the following link and the Install package will be downloaded. Your Device will warn you that it could harm your device. I promise it won’t. Click OK to download the package.

Download GPS_For_HanDBase.apk Application Plugin

When the Download is complete tap on the file in your Notifications to install it to your device.

This plugin application does require the following permissions to work.

Permissions

• Precise Location (To get the most accurate GPS coordinates.)
• Disable Your Screen Lock (So your device does not lock while the plugin is functioning.)
• Retrieve Running Apps (To know when HanDBase is running so it only activates at that time.)
• Run At Startup (So you don’t have to start the plugin every time you reboot your device.)
• Prevent Phone From Sleeping (So your device does not go to sleep while the plugin is functioning.)

Once installed tap the Open button to launch the GPS for HanDBase Settings screen. This will give you some more details about the plugin and check the status of it, to make sure it’s enabled or allow you to disable it. The first time you open the plugin the Status button will say Enable/Disable. You will need to first enable Accessibility Settings for the plugin for it to get the correct status. This setting in the Android OS is also what allows the plugin to know when you open HanDBase and what screen is open, so it only activates GPS on the proper screen. At the bottom of the Settings screen you’ll see some information about this with a button to go to Accessibility Settings. Once pressed look for GPS for HanDBase there and tap it, then switch the toggle to ON. Then go Back to the settings screen. If it is still showing Enable/Disable for the status tap that button to enable it.

You are now ready to capture GPS Coordinates in HanDBase.
