Surfside Soliliquies – Poetry about Surfside Beach, TX – Kindle eBook

My father, David Devaney, is a poet. He has been writing poetry for years, as long as I can remember in fact. You can find a lot of his poetry on his website, An Occasional Verse. At times he will create collections of his Poetry, usually based on a place he has lived or visited. One of these places is Surfside Beach, TX.

Surfside Soliliquies

Surfside Soliliquies – Amazon Kindle eBook

He had collected some of these poems into a collection called Surfside Soliliquies.

Since I have been out of work since April of 2012 I’ve been looking into other ways to make a little money, and keep myself busy. One of the things I looked into was converting a book into Kindle eBook format. I tried following their instructions to convert an MS Word file of Surfside Soliliquies into a Kindle eBook. Unfortunately it was a bit of a failure. After some research I found that Kindle does not handle Poetry very well. I came across a few articles on how to manually format Poetry to look acceptable as a Kindle eBook. After some trial and error, I was able to make this book of Poetry look decent on Kindle.

I have since published the Kindle eBook version of Surfside Soliliquies to Amazon’s website, at a reasonable price. However, there have been no sales. It’s available for free to all Amazon Prime users. AND, for the next two days it will be available for free to ALL Kindle users. I’ve set up a promotion so it will be free from 3am ET on Monday, December 3rd, 2012 until 2:59am on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012. If you have a Kindle I ask that you download it, Like it, Review it if you feel inclined, and also provide any Feedback to me.

If you are reading this after the promotion is over you can still purchase the Collection of Poetry for a minimal $2.99. You can also follow me on Twitter, @LordDewi, to see when I do another free Promotion.
